John Crowley’s Brooklyn, which stars Saoirse Ronan and Star Wars: The Force Awakens actor Domhnall Gleeson, is to open the Vancouver Film Festival, organizers said on Tuesday. Fox Searchlight Pictures paid $9 million at Sundance for the distribution rights to Brooklyn, the romantic drama based on Colm Toibin’s novel of the same name and adapted for the big screen by Nick Hornby.

“I Saw The Light” has an official premiere date!

According to Variety, Tom’s upcoming film, ‘I Saw The Light‘ has just been given an official release date just in time for the Oscar Season. The biopic about iconic country star Hank Williams will be released on November 27, 2015.

‘I Saw the Light’ is directed by Marc Abraham and also stars Elizabeth Olsen, Bradley Whitford and Maddie Hasson. It is based on the Hank Williams biography written by Colin Escott, George Merritt and William MacEwen.

Tom to play Hank Williams in biopic

According to The Seattle Times, Tom has signed to play country music legend Hank Williams in the biopic “I Saw the Light”.

We all know that Tom Hiddleston can do no wrong: he’s mastered the action-movie bad-guy thing (“The Avengers,” “Thor”), the period-drama thing (“The Deep Blue Sea”), the vampire thing (“Only Lovers Left Alive”), the literary-movie character thing (“Midnight in Paris”), and numerous other roles; plus, he’s pretty cute with little kids. But he’s found a new challenge: He’s signed to play country music legend Hank Williams in the biopic “I Saw the Light” (based on the Williams biography by Colin Escott), and word is that he will do his own singing, warbling Williams hits like “Your Cheatin’ Heart,” “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry,” and “Hey Good Lookin.’” Williams, born in 1933, found stardom early but his career was brief; troubled by health issues and substance abuse, he died in 1953, aged just 29. The film, to be directed by Marc Abraham (“Flash of Genius”), will begin shooting in Louisiana this fall.
