Thanks to Torrilla who posted these scans of Tom in the 9th March issue of 8 Days. Featured in it is a piece about Kong: Skull Island and his role alongside Brie Larson. GQ posted this article that, being fair, I find very cute 🙂

When it comes to suits, Tom Hiddleston doesn’t shy away from a rich, attention-grabbing color or showy double-breasted cut—he’s British; it’s in his blood. On his casual days, however, he sticks with a uniform so unwavering it rivals that of John Legend or even Chris Martin. His formula involves slim jeans, a solid knit or T-shirt, and a classic coat all done in shades of black, navy, and charcoal. The finishing touch is almost always Aquatalia’s gray suede Ace boots.

Hiddleston hasn’t just been wearing these $425 Italian-made boots over the past couple of days or months (as seen above); he caught media attention for his unrelenting commitment to them last year when he wore them to several media events (see below) and even on the beach (to be fair, it was a rocky beach). In short, the man has found true love—one that outlasted his relationship with a certain blonde songstress. And we get it; the shoes look equally good with a suit or with a pair of jeans because they have a nice, slightly elongated shape that’s a lot more elegant than a pair of Red Wings or Docs.

Following the fan pictures posted on social media a few weeks ago, it turns out the photoshoot (in London) was part of Tom’s editorial for the March issue of GQ US. The interview was posted on GQ’s official site and personally, I believe it to be one of Tom’s most personal interviews.

It’s not so much unknown news now that Tom was in a relationship with Taylor Swift and after 3 months, sadly they broke up. As many fans of Tom know, he is very protective of his person life, so to see some of the detail he goes into in the GQ interview is quite upsetting, as a fan of him. It is also interesting to hear Tom’s view and positivity.

I hope we can all show Tom and GQ writer, Taffy Brodesser Akner that we are very appreciate of the insight to Tom’s life and the overall interview! Below are a few snippets.

This is important to keep in mind while you’re getting to know Tom Hiddleston: His zeal is bottomless. It’s one of many things that were it not for what we know about his personal life, we might already know more about.

You might know, instead, that he’s an English gentleman of the purest caliber who has never spoken out of turn about any of his relationships, who roots for his co-stars and colleagues loudly (really loudly) over social media, who has never been caught flipping the bird at the paparazzi who hunted him after his famous breakup, who wouldn’t curse during my many hours with him no matter what the circumstance because his mother would be so disappointed to read it. 

“Taylor is an amazing woman,” reads the prepared statement Tom Hiddleston has memorized and is now giving me at The Bull & Last, where his voice has gone low. “She’s generous and kind and lovely, and we had the best time.” But I didn’t ask that, I say. I asked something else. So I wait, and he says, “Of course it was real.”

Perhaps one of Tom’s most adventurous photoshoots (still not quite sure what is happening), he is covering Interview magazine for their October issue.

The interview itself has been conducted by Tom’s good friend, Benedict Cumberbatch. It’s very interesting to read and also quite funny reading the banter between Benedict and Tom; also quite a long interview. Below is a little snippet:

BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH: Like all interviewers, I should first of all thank you, Tom, for taking this time.

TOM HIDDLESTON: [laughs] Thank you, Benedict. We should just thank each other for our time. For the rest of our lives.

CUMBERBATCH: And then, in typical British fashion, we should just apologize for everything as well.

HIDDLESTON: I’m sorry for disturbing you.

CUMBERBATCH: I’m more sorry than you.

HIDDLESTON: [laughs] How do you feel about …

CUMBERBATCH: My role as a journalist?

HIDDLESTON: I feel conflicted. [laughs]

CUMBERBATCH: I feel my role here is much more as a real friend than a journalist. There will be no curveballs, I promise. But just to get us started, what is it like donning the hair and horns, working with Chris [Hemsworth] again, and working Down Under with Taika [Waititi], your director?

HIDDLESTON: Well, it’s so exciting because I haven’t played Loki for four years. The last time I wore the costume was at San Diego Comic-Con in 2013.

CUMBERBATCH: You’re kidding me!

HIDDLESTON: The best thing about it, honestly, is working with Chris again. I first met him in Kenneth Branagh’s house in England in 2009. We were mere children, in the very beginning of our acting journeys. We made an instant connection, and it’s been extraordinary to share the ride with him—this mad journey with Marvel. Anthony Hopkins has been on set this week. And Taika Waititi is magnificent. He has found a way of honoring everything that came before but doing his own thing. And he’s so funny. His films—and if you haven’t, you must seek them out: What We Do in the Shadows, Hunt for the Wilderpeople—they have this combination of light-hearted, good humor and emotion. They’re very moving. Everyone’s really happy. Of course, we’re just at the beginning.
