A while back, Tom lent his voice to the animated movie, Early Man. Also featuring Eddie Redmayne and Maisie Williams, it tells the story of a caveman named Dug who departs on a mission to defeat the evil Lord Nooth, who is voice by Tom himself.

The first trailer was released recently, and check out Tom’s interesting accent for the role!

Hamlet Begins RADA Theatre Run

After a successful preview for family/friends, Hamlet officially began its 3 week run through September, at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts.

I have added HQ production stills to the gallery, courtesy of Torrilla.

Although entry was only through ballot, and not open for press, a number of people were accepted and attended the opening night and were able to provide reviews for national newspapers. Snippets of these reviews are posted below. Congratulations to Tom who has received exceptional reviews for his portrayal as Hamlet!

Yet the first performance had none of the air-kissing ballyhoo one associates with first nights. If anything, the occasion was remarkable for the traditionalism of Branagh’s production, the romanticism of Hiddleston’s Hamlet and the rapt concentration of the audience…But, if I had to pick out Hiddleston’s key quality, it would be his ability to combine a sweet sadness with an incandescent fury. He suggests a fierce intellect gnawed by intense melancholy and yet subject to bouts of intemperate rage.

The Guardian

And as for the main event, Hiddleston? His Hamlet is proactive, masculine, edgy to the point of aggression – and definitely, absolutely sane. His madness is a ruse, through and through. Having decided to “be mad by craft”, he appears wrapped in the flag of Denmark with his face painted in the national colours, like a hardcore football fan.

Tom Set To Appear As Hamlet In New Theatre Production

Tom had been taking an extended break from acting the past number of months after back to back promotions for Crimson Peak, I Saw the Light and Kong: Skull Island, but today came the news that he is to star in a new RADA theatre production of the Shakespeare play; Hamlet.

He is once again working alongside Kenneth Branagh, whom he starred alongside in Wallander and also with Thor, as Kenneth directed the movie.

Money made from the ticket sales will go directly to the fund established to help regenerate the RADA facilities. Tom is a notable alumni of RADA, also known as The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

The production is in aid of the RADA Attenborough Campaign to support the transformation of RADA’s Chenies Street site in London, further developing the Academy as a world-leader in dramatic arts training.

Hamlet is a tragedy play set in ancient Denmark written by Shakespeare between the years of 1599 and 1602. It tells the story of Prince Hamlet, who bears witness to his father’s ghost after his death.

Tom is following in the footsteps of Andrew Lee Scott and Benedict Cumberbatch who have recently played the character in other theatre productions. Of the play announcement, Tom said:

I hope the funds raised by the production will help RADA continue to provide a wider field of equal opportunity to train actors, stage managers and technical theatre artists, from every background, to a standard of excellence and professionalism. We need to keep the doors open for everyone.

The theatre production itself will run from 1 – 23 September at the Jerwood Vanbrugh Theatre in London. The ballot for tickets opened today at 12pm, and will continue until 6pm Sunday 6th August. Only 2 tickets can be bought per person. Costs range from £15 – £95.

Via the RADA Hamlet site, you can book your tickets, as well as view the dates and times of the play.

For more updates you can follow Branagh Theatre on Twitter.

While at Comic Con, the cast of Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok and Black Panther took part in a Marvel family photoshoot. Below is a snippet of the accompanying article:

Backstage at Comic-Con, THR captured Cate Blanchett, Michael B. Jordan, Mark Ruffalo and more in the first-ever star-studded portrait of the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

About 30 minutes before the stars of Disney’s and Marvel’s Black Panther and Thor: Ragnarok took to the Hall H stage at Comic-Con on Saturday, the worlds of Asgard and Wakanda collided backstage for the first-ever Marvel family photo of the two casts.

Nineteen members of the Marvel universe — led by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige — posed for The Hollywood Reporter’s exclusive portrait backstage just moments before the studio’s presentation. From the moment they arrived, the room was full of laughter and hugs, as many of the actors were reuniting with their casts for the first time in months.

The full article can be read here.

I have added two shots of the photoshoot to the gallery, via the link below.

Tom did indeed attend Comic Con yesterday, especially for the Marvel panel which highlighted the new movies in their calendar. Although he didn’t fully take part in the experience, such as the press line and photoshoots, he did appear on stage with the cast of Thor: Ragnarok and also helped to introduce the Avengers: Infinity War trailer.

I have HQ images to the gallery, with hopefully more updates to come such as screencaps. Thank you to the admin of Rose McIver Online who helped source images!

[Photos]The Hollywood Report Stylist Issue

It’s no secret that lately Tom has been super suave in his fashion, and the main force behind that is Ilaria Urbinati, his stylist. As part of the regular Stylist Issue of The Hollywood Reporter, Tom features in a photoshoot with Ilaria and also an interview. Below is a snippet of the article:

Tom Hiddleston may be a red-carpet risk-taker, but that doesn’t mean he’ll try every fashion trend.

“I’m not crazy about short trousers, short pants on men.” Hiddleston tells The Hollywood Reporter while playing “Fishing for Answers” with his stylist, Ilaria Urbinati. “Even in the summertime, it’s a risk.”

Luckily, Urbinati, who ranks No. 6 on THR’s 25 Most Powerful Stylists list this year, is aware of the Kong: Skull Island actor’s style preferences. She adds: “It’s true, I always go a little longer with you.”

Check out the video above to hear about Hiddleston’s style icons (Bill Murray, included) and who he thinks is a better co-star between Kong and Thor. Plus, watch Hiddleston show off his best American accent.

I have added photoshoot images to the gallery and also screencaps of their interview shall be added soon, as seen below.
